This applies only to the program curriculum; it does not address the ability to transfer a license to another state after obtaining a license in Illinois. Students are encouraged to contact the appropriate state licensing authority directly to determine whether Moraine Valley's program meets the educational requirements for licensure or certification in the state where they live or work. Please note that completing an academic program is typically only one aspect of meeting professional licensure requirements. Many states require individuals to meet additional requirements to qualify for licensure, including, but not limited to, passing state exams, completing background checks, and undergoing fingerprinting. State laws, regulations, and policies governing licensure may change at any time. The decision to grant a license or certification is ultimately within the state's purview. Only state licensing agencies or boards can determine whether an academic program meets or partially meets educational requirements for licensure. The college cannot guarantee an individual's attainment of any professional licensure or certification in any field or jurisdiction. Lastly, while Illinois may not require licensure for employment in certain professions, other U.S. states or territories may require it.
